He is survived by: his wife Jonna Schoolcraft Hayes; his children, Julia Hayes (Dee) of Kannapolis, Jamie H. Medley (Andy) of Gastonia and Jacob Hayes of Kannapolis; and his grandchildren, Jailyn, Addyson, Madyson, Liam, Malachi and Lucas.
