He is survived by: his daughters, Virginia Penland (Travis) of Arden and Rebecca Hayes (Patrick) of Concord; and his grandchildren, Garrett Evan Penland, Henry Landis Penland, Alice Hayes, Emma Hayes and McKinley Hayes.
