He was predeceased by: his parents, Scott Caldwell and Rachel Evans Caldwell; his wife Bobbie Shaw Caldwell; his siblings, Lula Caldwell, Willie Bell White, Bill Caldwell, Scott Caldwell, Jr., Joe Caldwell, Mary Howie, Betty Jean Coleman and Sarah Lee Kates; and his granddaughter Charlese Caldwell.
He is survived by: his daughters, Rachel Wilson (James) of Kannapolis, NC, Tina Hamrick of Kannapolis, NC, Charlene Caldwell, Sara Ann Caldwell (late Darlene) and Victoria Caldwell; his stepsons, Kevin Shaw Steve (Wonda) and Lewis Shaw of Morganton, NC; and his brothers, John Lewis Caldwell, Robert Caldwell (Pat) and Emanuel Caldwell (Kathy). He is also survived by 24 grandchildren; 56 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.
