He was predeceased by: his mother Gladys Marie Cline Helms; and his former wife Betty Lou Henry Helms. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Brest Helms; his children, Mitzi Rae Talbert of Bessemer City and Robbie Helms of Newton; his grandsons, Paul Talbert (Heather) and Ben Talbert; and his great grandchild Wyatt Talbert.
