With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Barbara Spears (Concord, North Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 9, 2024 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jay Bruce Howell and Ruth Lawing Howell; her siblings, Bernice Shimpock, Phyllis Graham, Juanita Barringer, Mary Kay Harris, Bill Howell and JB Howell; and her grandson Chris Myers.
She is survived by: her children, Priscilla Locklear (Com), Marvin Carroll (Bonnie), Robert Carroll, Mike Carroll (Ann) and Lynn Carroll; her brother Jerry Howell; and her close friend Debbie Morton. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Wilkinson Funeral Home (100 Branchview Dr NE, Concord, NC 28025). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Oakwood Cemetery (471 Church St N, Concord, NC 28025).
