He is survived by: his parent Grace VeHaun McGarity; his sons, David McGarity (Julie) and Cameron McGarity (Heatherly); his sisters, Elaine Silvey, Glenda Melton, Lynn Turner, Myra Ellisor and Debbie Belue; and his grandchildren, Claudia McGarity, Benjamin McGarity, Molly McGarity and Wyatt McGarity.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church, P.O. Box 220, Landrum, SC 29356.
