It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ella Newton of Columbus, North Carolina, who passed away on June 30, 2021, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Amos Taylor and Maggie Jones Taylor; her grandson Brad Butler; and her siblings, Margaret Smith, Raymond Taylor, Phillip Taylor and Victor Taylor.
She is survived by: her husband Columbus "Lummy" Newton; her daughters, Debbie Holloman, Vickie Briley (David) and Darlene Butler (Dan); her sisters, Rosa Bateman (Wayne) and Jean Winslow; and her grandchildren, Billy Smith, Jr. (Annette), Shannon Cash (Cody), Brandon Smith (Kaitlyn), Tonya Owens (Jamie), Bobby Allen, Jr., Tori Allen (Brad), Chris Allen (Morgan), Michelle Driver (John), Amanda Butler (Brian) and Josh Butler (Margie). She is also survived by 21 great grandchildren.
