He was predeceased by: his parents, John Cordell and Jensie Baker Cordell; and his former wife Mary Mason Cordell. He is survived by: his wife Helen Riddle Ward Cordell; and his stepdaughters, Patricia Bird and Carolyn Dayton. He is also survived by four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
