He was predeceased by: his father Seigfred Spencer Gibbs; and his siblings, Ray Gibbs and Faye G. Jackson. He is survived by: his daughters, Elaine G. Jones (Carl) of Columbia, Scarlet Gibbs Hall (Thomas) of New Bern and Jackie G. Thomas (David) of Manteo; his grandchildren, Andy Jones (Brooke) of Columbia, Megan J. McLaughlin (Scott) of Zebulon and Jacquelyn Thomas of Raleigh; and his great grandchildren, Dawson Jones, Crewe Jones, Lanie Jones, Allie Grace McLaughlin and Graham McLaughlin.
