He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Grantham Mitchell and Rachel Powell Mitchell; his brothers, Otis, Jake and Vernon; his wife Myrtle Davenport; his son Fred Mitchell (Cynthia); his grandchildren, Jamie Koch, Vann Mitchell (Brandi) and Courtney Sauter (Adam); and his great grandchildren, Molly Holland, Emma Holland, Fletcher Mitchell, Finn Sauter and Claire Sauter.
Due to COVID restrictions, a private funeral service will be held on Friday at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in Columbia, NC.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church.
