He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Albert and Georgia Carawan Swindell; and his siblings, Phyllis Anne Swindell, Roy Swindell and William Jabin Swindell.
He is survived by: his wife Ella Cahoon; his children, Ricky Swindell (Liz) of Swan Quarter, Phyllis Ballance (Buddy) of Fairfield and Jeannie Swindell (Chrissie) of Wake Forest; his grandchildren, Lance Swindell (Ashley), Loren Gibbs (Matthew), Lindsey Swindell, Madison Ballance (Mallory), Georgia Carawan (Dillon), Ellie Galantis (John) and Gant Sipfle (Rachel); his great grandchildren, Tanner Swindell, Tatum Swindell, Henley Gibbs, Berkley Gibbs, Isla Gibbs, Baylor Ballance and Gavin Galantis; and his sister Sandra Soltz.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Soule United Methodist Church, Amedisys Hospice, or to a charity of choice.
