She was predeceased by: her father James Summer; and her former husband William Lawrence Hassell. She is survived by: her husband Collon Edward Snell; her daughter Laura H. Barnes (Gerald) of Franklin, VA; her grandchildren, Lauren N. Winborne of Waverly, VA and Jeffery Woodard (Brittany) of Tarboro; her great grandchildren, La Miya Nevaeh Winborne, Mallory Elizabeth Woodard, Braylee Elania Woodard, Hudson Lawrence Woodard and Lawson Joseph Woodard; her stepchildren, Chris Snell of Columbia and Barbara S. Krebs (Mitch) of Annapolis, MD; her stepgranddaughter Colette Krebs; and her sisters, Frances Conner of Hampstead, NC and Minnie Liverman of Union, NC. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
