She was predeceased by: her parents, Ledford Cahoon and Cottie Weatherly Cahoon; her husband John Lafayette Cowell; her siblings, Sarah Cahoon McGuire, Mary Cahoon Sawyer, Alberta Cahoon Brickhouse, Marvin Cahoon, Lee Cahoon, Ellis Cahoon, John Cahoon and Rufus Cahoon; and her son-in-law Steve Bobbitt.
She is survived by: her daughters, Judy Sawyer Norman (Wayne) of Creswell, NC and Nancy Sawyer Bobbitt of Sisterville; and her siblings, Beulah Cahoon Cahoon of Fairfield, NC and Charles Cahoon of Columbia, NC. She is also survived by five grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren.
