He was predeceased by: his parents, Tommy M. Smith and Alice Millard Smith; his daughter Gail Edwards; his son-in-law Dale Moore; his sisters, Christine Pruitt and Jean Padgett; and also Nellie Garvey Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Linda K. Moore of Roper and Eddie Smith of Kinston; his grandchildren, Kevin Moore (Lissia) of Roper, Brandon Smith of Grifton and Casey Smith of Pink Hill; his great grandchildren, Emily Moore and Kenzie Smith; his siblings, Tommy R. Smith of Laurinburg, NC and Carolyn Reynolds of Newport; and his pets, Tiny and Spot. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
