It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Durwood Morris Cooper Sr. of Columbia, North Carolina, who passed away on August 24, 2022, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, V. Delton Cooper, Sr. and Beatrice Hopkins Cooper; his brother V. Delton Cooper, Jr. (Durwood); and his significant other Alma Dean Cooper (Cohoon). He is survived by: his children, Dwan C. Perry (Gil), Joy Cooper, Fay C. Davenport (Ron), Suzy Cooper and Durwood Cooper, Jr.; and his grandchildren, Nannette McCoy (Tommy), Katherine Gallagher (Thomas), Frank Perry, III (Nancy), Charlene Stone (Wade), Kathy Valadez-Oehl (Luis) and Ron Davenport, Jr. (Emily). He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
