She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Franklin and Bessie Stafford Idol; her husband William Eugene "Bill" Smith, Sr.; her son William Eugene Smith, Jr.; her siblings, Pearl L. Idol, Minnie Faye Clinard, Norman, Ralph, Tom, Rex and Colon; and her siblings-in-law, Alice, Macey, Nancy, Mary Ruth Idol, Albert Wicker and Jimmy Clinard.

She is survived by: her children, Kathy Dawn Smith of Colfax and Douglas Shane Smith (Beverly) of Colfax; her grandson Jonathan Douglas Smith of Greensboro; and her sister Avah Idol of Colfax. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
