She was predeceased by: her parents, Raleigh Z. James and Thelma Grady James Thomas; her husband Ken L. Wilkins, Sr.; and her siblings, Margie James and Norwood James.
She is survived by: her children, Ken Wilkins, Jr. (Saralyn) of Henderson, Neal Wilkins (Emily) of Durham, NC, Gloria Brown (Page) of Colfax, NC and Jonathan Wilkins (Laura) of Wilmington, NC; her grandchildren, Katherine, Daniel, David, Kennedy, Sophie, Abby, Moira, Michael and Mercedes; her sister Brenda Bromley-Turner of Wallace, NC; her sister-in-law Carolyn Bullock of Kinston, NC; and her friend Jean. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family.
