He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer E. Idol and Ethel Stafford Idol; his wife Aileen McGee Idol; his children, John Michael Idol and Becky Idol Collins; and his siblings, Wilbur, Weldon Idol and Bernice Idol Smith.
He is survived by: his son Richard Burch Idol (Cathy); and his granddaughters, Ashley Idol Diebenow (Steve) and Katie Collins Thomson (Jon). He is also survived by five great grandchildren.
