With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gilbert Hutchens of Colfax, North Carolina, who passed away on January 19, 2021 at the age of 81. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Gilbert Hutchens to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, William Hutchens and Pearlie Lane Hutchens. He is survived by: his wife Anne Hutchens; his daughters, Judy Hartley (Jack) of Colfax and Dawn Rhodes of Colfax; his grandchildren, Hannah Hill (Brandon), Emily Rose McMurtry, Trey Rhodes and William Rhodes; and his siblings, Hazel Roberts, Barbara Fox (Lonnie), Howard Hutchens and Brenda Harrelson.

The family has requested those in attendance to please wear a face covering and practice social distancing at the service and visitation.

Flowers are welcomed, and memorial contributions may be directed to Shining Light Baptist Church, 4530 West Wendover Ave. Greensboro, NC 27409.
