She was predeceased by: her sisters, Tip Barrow, Jewel Vance, Minnie Belle Morphis, Linda Gray Marion, Theo Stephens, Jeanette Bull and Bonnie Robbins.
She is survived by: her husband Philip W. Atkins; her children, Walter (Kelly) and Emily Kolb (Jeramey); her grandchildren, Colin, Sophia, Jakob and Lilly; and her sister Yvonne Steptoe of Georgia. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Kernersville Chapel - Hayworth-Miller Funeral Homes & Crematory (3950 Macy Grove Rd, Kernersville, NC 27284). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 1:00 PM and at 2:00 PM at the Shady Grove Wesleyan Church (119 N Bunker Hill Rd, Colfax, NC 27235).
In place of flowers, donations may be made to the Building Fund at Shady Grove Wesleyan Church at 119 N. Bunker Hill Rd., Colfax, NC 27235.
