Though Bernice McCurdy may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Bernice McCurdy touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence "Bud" McCurdy and Mary Bordell McCurdy; and her husband Rev. Roscoe Johnson. She is survived by: her daughters, Natalie Bell and Michelle Hooker; and her sisters, Carol Peters and Delores Gindlesperger. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Smith Grove Baptist Church (2707 Sandy Ridge Rd, Colfax, NC 27235). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Smith Grove Baptist Church Building Fund at P.O. Box 57, Colfax, NC, 27235.
