He is survived by: his children, William Newton Fowler, Jr. (Rachelle "Shelley") of Greenville, NC and Carla Fowler Gibbons (Bruce) of Apex, NC.; and his grandchildren, Emily Fowler, Brittany Claire Fowler, Bryan Gibbons and Rachel Gibbons.
