He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Patterson and Iola Black Patterson; his son Charles Curtis Patterson; and his siblings, Gene Patterson and Dorothy Gray Patterson.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Ivey Patterson; his son Jason Lee Patterson (Amy); his granddaughters, Emma Patterson and Cara Patterson; his close friends, Lonnie and Sally Dorman; and his caregivers, Shelia Beasley, Jennifer Flood, Holly Byrd, Felicia Hernandez and Pandora Johnson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be sent to Coats Methodist Church PO Box 388, Coats, NC 27521.
