She was predeceased by: her parents, Malcolm Upchurch and Mary Johnson Upchurch; her husband Dennis Aaron Pope; and her siblings, Jeanette Denning, Joe Upchurch, Phil Upchurch, Ruby Upchurch, Katherine Young, Tony Upchurch and Rupert Upchurch.
She is survived by: her children, Denise P. Stearley (Mark) of Cary, Roy Blaine Pope (Mary Jo) of Four Oaks and Russell Alan Pope (Sandy) of Coats; her grandchildren, Taylor Stearley, Lauren Stearley, Emily Pope and Aaron Pope; her stepgrandson John Aaron Harold; and her stepgreat-grandson John Peyton Harold. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In accordance with the current NC-COVID19 guidelines, the funeral home suggest practicing social distancing guidelines and the three W's: wait, wash and wear a face covering.
