He was predeceased by: his parents, Junius Barnes and Lula Messer Barnes; and his brothers, Louis Barnes, Hershel Barnes and Felton Barnes.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn D. Barnes of Coats; his daughters, Angela Barnes Williams (Scott) of Salemburg, NC and Lori Beth Barnes of Coats; his granddaughter Sadie Elizabeth Williams; his brother Harold Barnes of Eastover; and his stepbrother Walter Lee Barnes. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
