She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilbert Woodrow and Lela Mae Harper Thornton; her husband Tyrus M. Powell; and her siblings, Judy Faye Thornton, David Thornton and Earl Thornton.
She is survived by: her sons, Mark Patterson (Kendra) of Wake Forest and Brian Patterson (Heidi) of Chesterfield, VA; her stepdaughters, Cathy Powell of Rolesville and Charlotte Powell of Coats; her grandchildren, Jaelyn Patterson, Sydney Hicks (Matt), Matthew Patterson, Alivia Patterson, Richard Pope, Kelly Eddins, Jessica Arnold and Laura Dennis; and her siblings, Betty Davis of Coats, Barbara Hoots (Dan) of Coats, Pete Thornton of Coats and Gene Thornton (Faye) of Coats.
Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to one's favorite charity.
