He was predeceased by: his parents, Jessie B. West, Sr. and Mildred Holmes West Norris; his wife Elsie Janis; his son Jesse Lynn West; his stepfather Edgar Norris; and his siblings, Katherine Melvin and Charles West.
He is survived by: his children, Donna West, Kathy Young (Donald), Darlene Parker (Keith) and Jimmy West (Lisa); his daughter-in-law Barbara West-Lee; and his siblings, Mary "Molly" McLamb, Fulton "Bob" West, John West and Wiley "Buddy" West.
Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to the SECU Hospice House, PO Box 1376, Smithfield, NC 27577.In accordance with NC-COVID19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing guidelines and the three W's: wait, wash, and wear a face covering.
