He was predeceased by: his son Dustin Larry Hughes; and his brother Benny Ray Hughes. He is survived by: his parents, Willie Hughes and Nancy Ann Matthews Hughes of Coats; his fiancée Patricia Pendagast of Coats; his children, Daryl Lynn H. Hyden (Jamie) of Raleigh, Rebecca H. Colla (Bobby) of New York and Casey Hughes of New York; and his sisters, Shelia H. Jones (Dave) of Knightdale and Nancy H. Mitchell (Edward) of Coats.
In accordance with NC-COVID-19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing and the three W's: wait, wash, and wear a face covering. The visitation on Saturday night will follow all COVID- 19 restrictions allowing a maximum number of 25 people in the visitation room.
