She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Whitman and Ada Norris Whitman; her husband Charles Earl Pope; and her son Danny Pope. She is survived by: her children, Nina Vinson of Erwin, NC, Dennis Pope (Karen) of Coats, NC, Linda Benson (Timmy) of Benson, NC, Sandra Pope of Coats, NC, Jerry Pope (Becky) of Coats, NC and Teresa Parker (Donnie) of Benson, NC; her sisters, Shirley Temple of Virginia and Dorothy Howman of Coats, NC; and her pet Lady. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren.
