He was predeceased by: his grandfather Teddy Bruce Potter; his great-grandparent Bennie Welch; and his uncle Arthur Beaulier. He is survived by: his parents, Lorie Potter and Derek Welch; his brothers, Braylon Haney and Oliver Welch; his grandparents, Celia and Jimmy Norman; his great-grandparent Vera Edmonsond; and his grandparents, Timothy and Jane Welch.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the family at 1140 Allens Creek Road, Waynesville, NC 28786.
