He was predeceased by: his parents, John Goodson and Leona Locust Goodson; his brothers, Tony Goodson and Steve Goodson; his great grandchild Isabella Jacobs; his niece Silvia Ann Goodson; his nephew Michael Dillon Goodson; his great-niece Karla Buchanan; and his grandparents, Homer Locust, Hazel Locust, John Fannon Goodson and Lucy Inman Shuler.
He is survived by: his fiancée Leigh Pettus; his daughters, Cynthia Goodson (Johnny Reece) and Crystal Goodson; his siblings, John Michael Goodson (Sheryl) of Sylva, Randy Darrell Goodson (Cindy) of Waynesville, Patricia Hoyle (Jimmy) and Kathy Deaver (Frank); and his sister-in-law Barbara Goodson. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews Robert was a small business owner who specialized in flooring with his brother.
