He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred O. Scroggs and Mary Jane Scroggs (Mae); his wife Geraldine Mulkey Scroggs (Jerri); his son Jody Fred; and his siblings, Lucille Brock, Blanche Smith, Faye Barnett, Barbara Mauney, Bob, Boyd, Mercer and Dale Scroggs.
He is survived by: his children, Justin Scroggs (Jane) of Cullowhee, Jennie Scroggs Ienzer (Didier) of St. Laurent, Var, France and Jill Scroggs Silverboard (Reid) of Largo, Florida; his granddaughters, Emma, Laura and Rachel; his sister Wanda Hampton of Waynesville; and his sister-in-law Susie Scroggs. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
