He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel A. Ellis and Bessie Hall Ellis; his siblings, Samuel Lee Ellis, J. B. Ellis, Nadine Huss, Bettie Jordan, Margaret Jenkins and Raye McMurray; and his stepdaughter Trilby Evans.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Barkley Ellis. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
