He was predeceased by: his wife Ruby Conner; his parents, George Conner and Harriett Conner; his sister Bessie Davis; and his grandchildren, Christopher Michael Conner and Haley Grace Moore.
He is survived by: his children, Cathy Lowdermilk (Kent) of Sylva, Johnny Conner (Linda) of Waynesville, Gerald Conner (Shirley) of Waynesville, Dean Conner (Stephanie) of Waynesville, Clyde Conner (Deb) of Waynesville, Danny Conner (Tonuia) of Waynesville and Ricky Conner (Kay) of Waynesville. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephew.
