He was predeceased by: his parents, Wiley Nelson and Mary Nelson; his wife Mary Ruth Arrington Nelson; and his siblings, Tom, Junior, Richard, James Nelson, Margie Brookshire, Alma Davis and Audrey Lane Coward.
He is survived by: his children, Deloras Rathbone of Waynesville, Theresa Nelson (Mark Sutton) of Waynesville and Terrell Nelson; his grandchildren, Lee Rathbone, Brian Green, Melissa Nelson, Sharon Davis, Jessica Barrera, Natalie Tate, Becky Sleeman and Travis Green; his great grandchildren, Savannah Rathbone, Addisyn Nelson, Eastyn, Elijah Davis, KayeLee Tate, Max, Ryder Sleeman and Havyn Green; his sister Eleanor Nicholson; his close friend Debbie Stillinger; and his pet Penny. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, dear friends.
