He was predeceased by: his son John Charles Marshall; his parents, John Lanning and Dessie Lanning; and his siblings, Louise, Dorothy, Hazel, Virginia, James, Hub, Junior, Clarence and Richard.
He is survived by: his wife Suzann Lanning; his children, Jeramy Lanning (Jennifer) of Littlestown, PA and Michelle (Ken) of Lake Wylie, SC; his grandchildren, Paige (Dylan), Sabrina, Zackary and Logan; his great grandchildren, Jasper and Luna; and his sisters, Florence Caldwell of Waynesville and Ruth Ellis (June). He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
