She was predeceased by: her father Milton Abner Smith Sr.; her former husband Clinton Mayor; her husband A. E. Kennedy, Jr.; her mother Madeline Smith; her sister Martha Ann Hobbs; and her stepson Aaron Emsley Kennedy, III.
She is survived by: her brother Milton Abner Smith, Jr. (Judy); her sons, Kirk Pope (Joy), Tim Pope (Vicki), Darrell Pope (Wanda), Mark Pope (Teri) and Walt Pope (Carol); her grandchildren, Jeffrey Pope (Jesslyn), Madeline Fetterman (Trey), Abbie Pope, Samantha Faison (Wyman), Dennis Pope (Lori), Justin Pope, Joshua Pope and Jordan Pope (Kimberly); her great grandchildren, Cameron, Cason, Chandler, Ayala, Brennan, Teagan, Jaxon, Jensen, Cash and Cain Pope; and her nieces and nephews, Milton Smith III (Regina), Sarah Welliver (Chris), Matthew Smith, Laura Lutz (John), Ann Cover (Robert) and Alden Hobbs (Karen).
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Clinton Cemetery (414 W Main St, Clinton, NC 28328).
