He was predeceased by : his parents, James Irden and Sidney Thompson Burchette; and his brothers, Frank and Ronald Burchette. He is survived by : his wife Carol Strickland Burchette; his children, Christi Lynn Blackburn (Jay) of Clinton, Kenneth DeWayne Burchette (Brenda) of Roseboro, Randy Lee Burchette (Cindi) of Clinton and James Robert Burchette of Autryville; his stepdaughter Karen Daughtry of Tennessee; his grandchildren, Christina Jones (James), Jillian McLamb (Trey), Jared Burchette, Crystal Sessoms (Phillip), Jameson Burchette, Jenna Burchette, Katelyn Fox (Curtis) and Tyler Blackburn (Rickilyn); and his siblings, Debra Sayers, Joyce Kay Davis of Lumberton, Joann Ivey of Broadridge and David Burchette of Lexington. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 3rd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Harmony Baptist Church (1357 Harmony Church Rd, Clinton, NC 28328). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 3rd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
