As we bid Jay William farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Jay William is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Julius Charles and Florence Elizabeth Wilhour Daugherty; his daughter Shelby D. Guy; and his sister Betty Jay Daniels. He is survived by: his wife Marieta "Elizabeth" Carr Daugherty of Clinton; his daughter Sharon Lynn Herring of Clinton; and his brother Jimmy Daugherty of Hillsborough. He is also survived by five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Bethany PFW Baptist Church (1068 Rackley Rd, Clinton, NC 28328). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
