It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Hampton Whitted (Clinton, North Carolina), who passed away on May 1, 2022, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his wife Hazel Matthews Whitted; his sons, Phillip Whitted (Sonja) of Clinton, NC and Derry Whitted (Stephanie) of Clinton, NC; and his siblings, Apostle Judy Howard (Johnnie) of Clinton, NC, Andrew "Jack" Oates of Clinton, NC, Fulton Oates (Deborah) of Clinton, NC, Willie Oates of Clinton, NC and Henry Oates of Lancaster, PA. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
