He was predeceased by: his former wife Elizabeth Barber; his parents, Alphonzia Barber and Sue Barber; and his siblings, Linda Pope and Wilbert Barber.
He is survived by: his spouse Lib; his daughters, Melissa Ezzell (Marshall) and Tracy Oates (Patrick); his grandchildren, Jake Ezzell, Finn Ezzell, Robert Duke Oates and River Oates; his siblings, Jimmy Barber (Loyce), Dwight Barber (Cynthia), Julie Autry (Michael) and Charles Barber (Teresa); and his sister-in-law Lynn Daniels. He is also survived by nephews and nieces.
Visitation was held on Sunday, October 20th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church (3790 Faison Hwy, Clinton, NC 28328). A funeral service was held on Sunday, October 20th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Sunday, October 20th 2024 at the Barber Family Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to NC Baptist on Mission Disaster Relief efforts in Western NC.
