It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bertus Lee Brewington of Clinton, North Carolina, who passed away on October 16, 2024, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Bertus may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Ashford Brewington and Mary Jones Brewington. He is survived by: his wife Rosie Maynor Brewington; his children, Maretta Brewington, Marcus Brewington (Carin), Mathew Brewington (Laurie) and Micah Brewington (Holly); his stepchildren, Gary Ruffin (Tiffany) and Shauna Harper (Jamie); and his sister Mary Raines. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; several step-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, October 20th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the New Bethel Baptist Church (1165 Mt Moriah Church Rd, Clinton, NC 28328). A funeral service was held on Sunday, October 20th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Sunday, October 20th 2024 at the same location.
