He is survived by: his children, Trumiller Mathis of Bronx, NY, Tammie Boykin of Raleigh, NC, Brenda Chenerfant (Demezer) of Irvington, NJ, Yvonne Evans Dickson (Harold, Jr.) of Newark, NJ, Arthur Lee Mathis of Bronx, NY, Monte Mathis of Bronx, NY and Gary Owens of Salemburg, NC; and his brother Howard Mathis of Clinton, NC. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Worley Funeral Home, Inc. (639 Lisbon St, Clinton, NC 28328). A celebration of life was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Lisbon Street Missionary Baptist Church (401 Lisbon St, Clinton, NC 28328). A burial was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at the Sandhill Cemetery (3 Sampson St, Clinton, NC 28328).
