He was predeceased by: his siblings, Swofford "Slim" and Morea Scruggs; and his nephews, Gene Scruggs and Jimmy Davis. He is survived by: his wife Virl Godfrey Davis; his niece Kay Davis McClain (Dennis); his children, Christie Cole (Barry), Craig Davis, Dorothy Thrift, Cathy Angle, Jaki and Jackson; and also, Angle Quinn, Marcus Greene, Robin Frady and Pam Davis.
