He was predeceased by: his parents, Rass Conner and Mildred Taylor Conner; his wife Linda Pearson Conner; and his brother Steve Conner. He is survived by: his children, Sherry Biggerstaff (Keith) of Forest City, Jeff Conner (Donna) of Six Points, Tracy Ray (Richard) of Oak Island, NC and Terrie Reid (Kevin) of Spindale; his sisters, Martha "Mott" Hutchins of Caroleen and Ruth Conner of Caroleen; and his grandchildren, Jordy Ray (Melissa), Brett Ray, Dorian Cowart, Brittany Conner, Kristine Overman, Katalyn Conner, Shayla Jackson and Marissa Bright (Dillon). He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
