It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Roy Parks Mullis of Cleveland, North Carolina, born in Kannapolis, North Carolina, who passed away on June 13, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Chatham Johnson Mullis and Virgie Mae Haney Mullis; his wife Helen Maxine Gillespie Mullis; his son Rodrick Parks Mullis; and his sisters, Elsie Crainshaw, Johnsie Bridges and Billie Joe Edgison.
He is survived by: his brother Wayne Mullis (Shirley); and his stepchildren, Beverly Whitlow (Bill), Terry Hoke (Ronda), Stephanie Wilhelm (Billy) and Mark Pope (Barbara). He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
