James Blanton Sr. Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Blanton Sr. of Cleveland, North Carolina, who passed away on November 26, 2020, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Pryor Blanton and Bertha Pruett Blanton; his wife Lou Collins Blanton; and his siblings, Sue Barkley, Janie Morrison, Edna Rogers, Arzie Rogers, Paul Turner and Bill Blanton.
He is survived by: his sons, Jimmy Blanton, Jr. (Anne) of Shelby and Dean Blanton (Rita) of Shelby; his granddaughters, Traci Gillespie (Phillip) of Shelby and Trina Ashcroft (Jason) of Fort Mill, SC; his great grandchildren, Blanton Gillespie, Gavin Canipe and Hayes Ashcroft; his stepgrandson Derrik Stallings; and his sister-in-law Shannon Blanton. He is also survived by loving Nieces and Nephews.
