He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivey T. C. Millon and Pauline Swink Millon; his son Mickey Mellon; and his brother Larry Mellon. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Redmond Mellon; his children, Becky Shaffer of Conover, Elizabeth Watson of Vale and Harold Mellon, Jr. of Lawndale; and his siblings, Thomas Mellon of Cherryville, Ricky Mellon of Casar, Helen Burgess of Connelly Springs, Carolyn McGinnis of Lincolnton and Marie Johnson of Lawndale. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
