It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gay Marie Edwards of Cleveland, North Carolina, born in Johnson City, Tennessee, who passed away on May 15, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Smith and Roberta Osborne Fenoglio; her daughter Sharon Pansy Edwards; and her siblings, Charles, James Smith and Elva Mae Cornett.

She is survived by: her husband Charlie Edwards; her children, Marty Edwards, Alvin Edwards (Debbie), Keith Edwards (Sandy) and Karen Edwards; her sister Carolyn Edwards; and her grandchildren, Kaden Edwards (Bradi), Miranda Whitley (Jonathan), April Majors (David), Miriam Boger (Jason), Curtis Edwards (Holly), Erin Bumgarner (Grant), Wayne Edwards (Brittany), Anna Wensil (Caleb), Lance Brooks (Jennifer), Josh Brooks (Nicole) and Wendy Shields (Drew).
