He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus Jerome Heaggans, Sr. and Juneava Maxine Arnold Culbreath. He is survived by: his siblings, Leonard Heaggans (Mary) of Statesville, Troutman of Statesville, Rufus J. Heaggans, Jr. (Annette) of Statesville, Beverly T. Heaggans of Statesville, Lesia Pearson (Curtis) of Statesville, Gonzlee I. Culbreath (Rosetta) of West Virginia, A'an R. Culbreath (Veronica) of West Virginia, Timothy Culbreath (Kaye Kaye) of Texas, Leonard N. Culbreath (Sharon), Richard A. Culbreath (Viola), George C. Culbreath and Daniel L. Culbreath. He is also survived by other uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Mt. Tabor Presbyterian Church (935 Mt Tabor Church Rd, Cleveland, NC 27013). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
